My name is Mohammed Shafique and I am of Arab origin. We originally belong to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. While on a tour of Australia, my grandfather from my father’s side fell in love with an Australia woman and decided to marry her and stay permanently in Perth, Australia where he started cattle and animal stock business. My father was the eldest of three sons, and was educated in the ranch in Perth, Australia. My father married a Britisher settled in Perth during 1960, and I was born in 1961. Since my school days, I was deeply interested in studying linguistics, and after finishing schooling in 1978, I sought admission in one of Australia’s prestigious literature colleges in Canberra, called the Australian National University in Canberra for Graduate Certificate in Linguistics. After this I moved on to Sydney, Australia with my wife, to set up education business there and also began to pursue my Post Graduate (PG) studies in Indigenous Language Education from the University of Sydney, Australia which I duly completed in 2000.
For the last 12 years or so, I am activately involved as an educator in Indigenous Languages and Professor of Languages at the University of South Wales, Australia. I handle both classroom models and online courses on in Indigenous Languages as well as coaching English as ESL. IELTS, TESOL etc. I have won several awards and mementos on various language presentations made in several Universities both within Australia and in other countries like China, Vietnam, Chile and Japan. I believe educators need to adopt a global approach to education to make it sustainable for long term sustenance.
