My name is Jose Willis and I am originally of Jewish Polish origin but settled in the United States in Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. During the time of the Second World War, sometime during 1946, my parents were forced to leave Poland when Germany attacked and seized Poland, and my Jewish parents fled to USA, which they made their permanents home. I was born in 1960 in Pennsylvania, Philadephia. Both my parents were English lecturers in Poland and on arrival in USA took up jobs here. I completed High School in 1978 and joined the University of Pennsylvania, (Penn) Graduate Program course in Film Studies in 1979, graduating in 1981. Since I found it difficult to get a suitable job with just graduate qualifications, I enrolled myself in Master of Science in Education (M.S.ED) in 1982 from the University of PENN in order to improve career prospects. I completed this in year 1985, and took up internship in Graduate School of Education. Film Studies has always intrigued me and continues to excite me, especially when I teach students both in classrooms and online, since there are no differences in both formats.
I have gained considerable amount of experience and educative skills in the teachings of Film Studies since the last 30 years or so. I love my job and feel that the best way to stay educated and academically alive is to help other students gain excellent grades. Many of my ex students are now Deans and Heads of Departments in major Universities not only in the United States but also in Europe, Middle East and Asia. I am not proud of my academic achievements, only satisfied.
